Co-President Arturo Guadarrama
Arturo is a senior studying Chemical Engineering and will be graduating this December. This is his second year serving on the SHPE Executive Board, where he is currently Co-President. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, producing music, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Co-President Enrique Aldape
Enrique is in his final-year studying Chemical Engineering. Previously, he has held the roles of Treasurer, Secretary, & Newsletter Chair. As President for the Spring 2026 semester, he hopes to finish the year off strong and prepare for the next school year. Outside his studies, he plays classical and mariachi music on the violin and is very passionate about his work experiences at Cargill.
Vice President - Internal Dayanara Limon-Hernandez
Dayanara Limon-Hernandez is SHPE’s Vice President Internal, where she hopes to foster community, strengthen member engagement, and build meaningful connections across campus. She previously served as SHPE’s Social Media Chair, using her creativity to highlight events and member experiences. Beyond SHPE, Dayanara mentors first-year students through the Center for Educational Opportunity and enjoys pursuing her passion for photography.
Vice President - External Amy Quijano
Amy is a junior studying Electrical Engineering, and this is her second year with SHPE. As Vice President External, she hopes to create an environment where members can grow professionally by building connections between students and professionals in the field. Outside of SHPE, she enjoys biking, watching soccer, and spending time with friends and family.
Secretary Maritza Santiago-Martinez
Maritza is studying Electrical Engineering and this is her second year on E-board. As Secretary, she aims to maintain good origination and communication for a successful school year. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends, crocheting, and other various crafts.
Treasurer Diego Pina
Diego is a senior studying Mechanical Engineering, with this year being his first on the SHPE E-Board. He’s excited for the challenge of managing the organization’s finances while aiding all areas of the organization where necessary. Along with this, he’s committed to supporting a welcoming environment for new and old members alike to be in within SHPE. Outside of school, Diego is an avid motorsports fan, and also enjoys rock-climbing and spending time with friends and family.
Social Events Chair Andrew Velasquez
Andrew is a sophomore studying Computer Science and Computer Engineering. He is excited to be able to create engaging and memorable experiences that bring our members together. His goal is to strengthen the community by planning events that foster connection, celebrate culture, and promote collaboration among students and professionals. He aims to build a supportive environment where members can grow personally and professionally. Outside of SHPE, he enjoys playing soccer, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
Web Chair Lezly Ruiz
Lezly is a senior studying Computer Engineering. Her goals as Web Chair are to keep everyone up to date with SHPE’s events so that everyone is well aware of SHPE’s activity. She also wishes to make SHPE’s website easy to use and very informatic. Outside of SHPE, she enjoys crocheting and spending time with her cat Spooky.
Social Media Chair Gabriela Medina Medina
Gabriela is a sophomore studying Biomedical Engineering. As Social Media Chair for SHPE, her goal is to increase participation in events by engaging with students through social media. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside in nature, journaling, reading, and watching movies/shows.
Newsletter Chair Luis Parra Rodriguez
Luis is a sophomore studying Electrical Engineering. As Newsletter Chair, he hopes to regularly update the SHPE community with upcoming events and ensure the community feels welcome to attend those events. He also hopes to increase engagement with the SHPE newsletter and create interesting emails that are engaging. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and going to concerts.
SHPE-tinas Chair Jocelyn Hernandez-Galan
Jocelyn is a sophomore studying Computer Engineering. As SHPE-tinas Chair, she hopes to reach more students across campus and provide them with a welcoming space to build comunidad and support. Her goal is to encourage participation by continuing to promote events and initiatives with the help of E-board. Outside of SHPE, she enjoys to journal, read, and spend time with friends. She’s excited to bring energy and creativity into building connections within SHPE’s group.
Corporate Relations Paulina Castaneda
Paulina is a senior majoring in Environmental Engineering. As Corporate Relations Chair, she is committed to strengthening and expanding our SHPE familia by fostering meaningful connections with industry partners and supporting members’ professional and personal growth. Beyond SHPE, Paulina shares her passion for culture and community through dancing and teaching ballet folklórico.
Grant Writer Jose Ramirez
Jose is a senior studying Biomedical Engineering. His goals as Grant Writer are to increase funding to help more members attend Nationals as well as helping SHPE secure more long-term funding. Outside of SHPE, he is BSAC Chair, enjoys going to the gym, playing soccer, and playing video games.
Recruitment and Retention Chair Alexis Serrano
Alexis is a sophomore studying Biomedical Engineering. As Recruitment & Retention Chair, he hopes to foster a welcoming, familial, and professional community for students on campus. Outside of SHPE, he is a member of the Alpha Phi Chapter of Alpha Psi Lambda National, Inc. He also enjoys playing tennis and trying new restaurants.
Outreach Chair Deborah Moreno
Deborah is a rising senior and has been involved with SHPE since she was a freshman and is currently serving as Outreach Chair. Aside from SHPE, she’s involved with the Wisconsin Consulting Club. Recently, she’s gotten into Beli and has been posting her latest food finds. She enjoys playing intramural soccer and volleyball on campus.
Fundraising Chair Christian Anaya
Christian is a junior majoring in Civil Engineering. His goals as fundraising chair this year are to raise enough money to send even more members fully funded to the National Convention next year, increase member participation in the fundraising committee, and provide support to fund larger SHPE events in the future. Right now, he is interested in Steel Bridge (another organization on campus), weightlifting, and skateboarding.
Alumni Lead Giovanni Zavala
Giovanni is a senior studying Biological Systems Engineering. This is his second year serving on the SHPE Executive Board, where he now serves as Alumni Lead, with the goal of bridging a community between the alumni that have passed through this organization with the current members.
